Court dismisses Side Chick lawsuit against Sugar Daddy, Orders GH¢10k in costs for Seyram

An Accra High Court judge, Justice John Bosco Nabarese, has dismissed the case involving Deborah Seyram Adablah and former Chief Finance Officer Ernest Kwasi Nimako.

Adablah’s lawsuit against Nimako was dismissed by the court, which acknowledged the moral complexities of their relationship but found insufficient grounds for legal action in her filed writ.

The court, in its judgment, expressed a notable hesitancy to grant judicial approval to the foundation of Adablah and Nimako’s relationship, emphasizing the principle that one cannot seek recovery for commitments made in the context of an immoral act.

Furthermore, the court’s decision included a consequential order for Adablah to bear a cost of GH¢10,000. This cost imposition serves as a financial consequence following the dismissal of her lawsuit. The court’s stance reflects a punitive measure associated with the legal proceedings.

This ruling was prompted by an application from Nimako urging the court to strike Adablah’s case. In her initial lawsuit, filed in January 2023, Adablah had made various claims against Nimako, alleging promises such as a car, three years of accommodation, monthly stipends, marriage after Nimako divorcing his wife, and a lump sum for a business venture. However, the court scrutinized these claims and ultimately rejected them, leading to the dismissal of the entire case and the subsequent cost order against Adablah.
