2023/2024 Full GES Academic Calendar For Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released the full academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic year for all schools in Ghana.

Academic Calendar for Nursery, KG, Primary and JHS

First Term

School Commences on October 3, 2023, and concludes on December 22, 2024.

Students will have a Christmas break from December 23, 2023, to January 8, 2024.

Second Term

Second term Begins on January 9, 2024, and ends on April 11, 2024. Students will take a break from April 12, 2024, to April 29, 2024.

Third Term

Starts on April 30, 2024, and finishes on July 25, 2024. JHS 3 students are scheduled to sit for their BECE in July 2024.

Academic Calendar SINGLE TRACK SHS

First Semester

SHS 1 students: They will be in School from December 4, 2023, to March 15, 2024, with vacation from March 16, 2024, to May 2, 2024.

SHS 2 and SHS 3 students: School from November 1, 2023, to March 5, 2024, with vacation from March 5, 2024, to May 2, 2024. a Christmas break from December 21, 2023, to January 2, 2024, will be observed.

Second Semester
– All SHS students resume classes from May 3, 2024, to August 28, 2024.

Academic Calendar for Transitional Schools

First Semester
SHS 1 students: Begin on December 4, 2023, and conclude on March 5, 2024, with a break from March 6, 2024, to May 12, 2024.

 SHS 2 students: Start on March 8, 2024, and end on May 9, 2024, with a break from May 10, 2024, to July 11, 2024.

 SHS 3 students: Begin on January 2, 2024, and finish on March 28, 2024, with a break from March 29 to April 16, 2024.

Second Semester:

SHS 1 students: In school from May 13, 2024, to July 9, 2024, with a break from July 10, 2024, to September 2, 2024. Then, in school again from September 3, 2024, to November 15, 2024.

SHS 2 students: In school from July 12 to November 15, 2024.

SHS 3 students: In school from April 17 to August 23, 2024.
