Kennedy Agyapong To Give Bawumia Another Showdown In 2024

Assin Central’s Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has hinted at his intention to contest in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries for the 2028 elections.

Despite losing in the November 4 primaries to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Agyapong expressed gratitude to his supporters at the ‘Showdown’ Thanksgiving Service.

He urged them to find solace in their impressive performance, vowing to return stronger in the next four years.

Agyapong highlighted the underestimation he and his team faced, stating, “They predicted I would not get more than 10 percent. But today, all those who made the claim are indoors and feel ashamed.” Looking ahead, he encouraged hope for another showdown in the next 3 to 4 years. In the recent NPP primaries, Dr. Bawumia secured the party’s flagbearer position with 61.47% of the votes, surpassing Agyapong and two other candidates for the 2024 presidential polls.
