NPP Announces Official Date For Parliamentary Primaries

The New Patriotic Party NPP is one of the best political parties in Ghana. Currently, The New Patriotic Party is the ruling party in Ghana. A press statement from the Party’s headquarters has confirmed the official date that the New Patriotic Party NPP will hold its Parliamentary primaries across the 16 regions in Ghana.

On the 4th of November 2023, the New Patriotic Party NPP elected their Presidential candidate for the 2024 elections. Out of the four official contenders, His Excellency the Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was elected to lead the New Patriotic Party NPP in the 2024 general elections. The contenders of His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the Presidential primaries are Honorable Kennedy Agyapong (the member of Parliament for Assin Central), Honorable Afriyie Akoto (former minister in charge of Agriculture), and Honorable Francis Addai Nimoh. At the end of the contest, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was able to secure about 61% of the total valid votes cast.

We cannot have a presidential candidate without members of Parliament. with this, the New Patriotic Party NPP has scheduled the official date to conduct the Parliamentary primaries of the New Patriotic Party NPP. According to the statement or press release from the party, the NPP delegates are told that the primaries for the members of Parliament will be conducted on the 2nd of December 2023.
