Resign If You Can’t Do Your Job, You’ve Already Lost Your Authority- Sefa Kayi To Health Minister

Kokrokoo, host of the morning show on Peace FM, and Kwame Sefa Kayi, better known as the Chairman General of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), have written a letter to Health Minister Kwaku Agyemang Manu. During a talk on Peace FM’s morning show with New Patriotic Party’s communication team member, Nana Akomea, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Kwame Sefa Kayi informed the NPP stalwart to tell Kwaku Agyemang Manu to step down if he can no longer deliver as a health minister.

The minister’s attitude toward the closing of the renal unit at Korle-Bu and other connected topics caused grief and dissatisfaction for Kwame Sefa Kayi.
Since you are a member of the government, I’d like to give you a message to convey on my behalf. He asked Nana Akomea to convey the message that Health Minister Opanin (the older) Agyeman Manu could resign from his position if he felt unable to do so.The health minister mandated the unit’s reopening on November 6, 2023, after public outcry over its closure in May 2023; nonetheless, the institution did not reopen until November 8.
As a result of Mr. Manu’s subordinates disregarding his directives, Sefa Kayi thinks he has lost authority in his field.
Kweku Agyeman “Despite Manu’s directive, the unit has remained shuttered as of today (November 7, 2023).
He went on to say that this was symptomatic of the fact that, as a general rule, authority is lost when subordinates disrespect and treat superiors’ directives with contempt.
The journalist claims that ten lives have been lost since the unit’s shutdown, but the health minister doesn’t seem to care.
Approximately four million dollars (or euros or pounds) in debt have accumulated at the Korle Bu Renal unit, he claimed. This is why the unit has been shuttered since May; since then, over ten patients have tragically passed away. There have been deaths!
It’s been months, but please let Agyeman Manu know that there have been deaths at the Korle Bu renal unit. He seems unfazed by the situation. Nana Akomea tried to comfort him, but he insisted on venting his frustration.
When he said, “This is a very serious message I’m giving you, with all seriousness,” he meant it.
The unit was closed to outpatients on May 22, 2023, due to mounting operational costs and debts. Some of the numerous patients who needed the unit’s kidney treatment were tragically lost when it was shut down.
